The new facility enables SBI customers holding fixed deposits with the bank to apply for a secured Advantage SBI Card through a paperless process.
SBI Card said the application can be completed in about 10 minutes. Customers can apply for four cards under the Advantage SBI Card offering on YONO — SBI Card ELITE, SBI Card PRIME, SimplyCLICK SBI Card and SimplySAVE SBI Card. The cards are backed by a fixed deposit, providing collateral against the credit facility.
SBI Card said the offering is aimed, among other things, at customers looking to establish or strengthen their credit profile and gain access to formal credit. The company said the entire application journey, including the digital process on YONO, is designed to eliminate paperwork and provide an integrated application experience. The launch was inaugurated by Challa Sreenivasulu Setty, Chairman, State Bank of India , in the presence of Ashwini Kumar Tewari, Managing Director, SBI, and Salila Pande, Managing Director and CEO, SBI Card.
SBI Card said the initiative combines its credit card portfolio with SBI's customer reach and YONO's digital capabilities. SBI Card is a non-banking financial company and had more than 22 million cards-in-force, according to the company. First Published: Sept 23, 2026 4:07 PM IST
